What makes a school an optimal environment for both children and adults to grow? This is a question Head of School Allison Webster loves to consider from a variety of vantage points. She did so as an instructor in The Head’s Network Women’s Leadership Institute this fall, teaching aspiring female leaders about what makes a healthy culture in schools. As an AISNE board member and chair of the AISNE Membership Committee that oversees accreditation, Allison works with a committee to shape a process for accreditation that promotes both growth and accountability and shapes criteria for successful AISNE schools. She also had an opportunity to share the success of DCD’s board in a session she ran on good governance for the AISNE Governance Conference. These outside professional opportunities keep her connected to the national dialogue about education and the needs of children and allows for numerous vantage points as she thinks about how to help DCD continue to thrive.
