Yesterday was the kick-off of classes in DCD’s new Lower School Science Center! White bird decals and tissue paper art collages caught sunlight on the large floor-to-ceiling windows as students hurried to their seats. Each student in grades 1 through 5 received a “science bingo” sheet with different features of the room listed in each square, and everyone jumped with enthusiasm for the scavenger hunt to familarize themselves with the new space. Some of the hunt questions included: “How many sets of teeth can you find in the room?” and “Which planet is the third from the sun?”

Students paired up while Mrs. Shirley and Ms. Kaelin encouraged students to look all around including the ceiling and floor space to find what they were looking for! DCD students accomplish so much through their science and engineering studies, and we are thrilled to offer a dedicated space for these budding scientists of the future!
