Mystery theater promises a lot of plot twists and turns, and with the creepy setting in an old mansion on a remote island during a storm, the Grade 8 play certainly delivered! Acting out a story within a story, the drama on stage never stopped. A group of old friends gathering for a weekend of mystery and intrigue found themselves in the middle of real “who done it”! It was a tale of intertwined relationships, secrets and greed and the drive to right the wrongs from the past.

The Grade 8 play at this time of year is always a bittersweet moment! Whether it’s their second or tenth play since coming to DCD, it marks the last time this special group of students will take to the stage together for this annual rite of passage.

Now in her ninth year at DCD, Head of School Ms. Webster reflected on how wonderful it has been in her time here to watch these young actors grow in skill and confidence year after year. From those early moments when they had to remember a single line and find their spot on stage to mastering complex storylines and stage movements as 8th graders, this class has truly demonstrated how hard work and discipline pay off in the delivery of a sparkling and entertaining performance. The giggles and joy from the audience were a well-earned reward!

Thanks to all the teachers and families for their amazing support and to Sharon Allen for her wonderful work on costumes and Karen Eutemey and the middle school set design class for their beautiful work on scenery. And a big thank you to Ms. Sidoli for another fabulous class play!
