Our heartfelt congratulations to Nathan (Grade 6) and Max (Grade 4) for their remarkable accomplishments in robotics! Nathan and Max spoke during this week’s Lower School Assembly to share their robotics journeys and highlighted each of their recent championship competitions and truly incredible winning placements. Then to the delight of their fellow students, they put on a great showcase of their technical skills for all to enjoy!

Congratulations to Nathan and his team, 6177D, The Pneumatic Krakens, for winning the Silver Medal (2nd place) at the VEX Robotics World Championship 2026, Middle School — competing against over 400 teams from 50+ countries. Their team is the first Massachusetts team ever to win a Division Championship at VEX Worlds, to advance to the World Championship Final, and the first to win a medal at the World Championship Final—and, they are the top-performing team among all 50 US state champions!

Their journey was remarkable: after winning the Massachusetts state championship, they traveled to Worlds and won the 80-team Innovate Division Championship — earning a spot to the World Final. As newcomers to the World Final stage, they competed in front of thousands of spectators, and in a thrilling match against 4 other excellent division champion teams, they earned the Silver Medal—finishing 2nd out of five division champions!

And congratulations to Max, who shared his journey into robotics, which began at a summer camp where he learned the fundamentals of mechanical design, and continued his growth by joining a Robotics team this year. As he explained, robotics is not only about building, but also about effective communication with alliance partners and strong team coordination. His team placed first in Elementary Skills in Massachusetts, earning a spot at the State Championships, where they received the Excellence Award—qualifying them for the World Championships.

Way to go, Nathan and Max!
