Grade 7 science students have been working on a programming unit with LEGO Mindstorm EV3s, in which students have used creative problem solving paired with engineering and programming skills. Partnering in teams, students designed, built, and programmed their own motorized robots using simple block code, and downloaded their programs to the bots using bluetooth technology, culminating in an unforgettable BattleBot competition! Battling in a 12-team single-elimination bracket competition, students tried to flip, push, and ultimately eliminate their opponent’s robot! The excitement was palpable as each team paired off, the robots battled, and ultimately, the designers of the “last robot standing” won! Congratulations to all of the Grade 7 teams for a fantastic Battlebot competition!
