Yesterday was the first day of winter sports games! To kick things off, varsity basketball competed against Derby Academy. Coach Balk took the team through a few screen drills and then it was game time! DCD started off strong, making the first basket, and continued to play a fast-paced game. At DCD, the athletics department values every member of the team which means every student has an opportunity to play in games. Students learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship in real time through their interactions with teammates and competitors alike. The game was very close and hard fought, and ended 27-29 Derby. We are so proud of the team for all of their effort and we look forward to the season ahead. Go Hawks!
