A number of students in Grades 3 through 5 volunteered to give up two recess periods to make Valentines for soldiers and veterans.
Their cards were distributed through the Heartillery Group, a Boston-based non-profit organization that collects cards to show love and gratitude to our troops and help boost the spirits of soldiers stationed around the globe. Third Grade teacher Colleen Hultgren, a friend of the group’s founder, coordinated the students’ efforts.
