The Grade 6 Class Play offered a clever and terrifying tale of beloved characters, books, zombies and teamwork! Set in a magical land and present day DCD, the Grade 6 class play follows the story of a great cast of favorites—both good, bad, and evil, who learn the importance of doing the right thing, the value of good over evil, the meaning of appreciating each other’s differences, and ultimately, coming together to help each other!
Following the performance, Head of School Allison Webster shared, “This was an epic play. There were so many lines. There was so much coming and going. There was so much teamwork needed. And you wouldn’t know seeing your great performance today, but in the first couple of weeks, things were a little bumpy. And what impresses me so much about your class and what makes me love how you approach things, is you work from behind. I saw the rehearsal where things turned—you showed up, everyone had done their work, and then you really started to work as a group, and play off each other. And it was in that moment at rehearsal where I said to you, ‘this is going to be so good.’ And guess what? It was. It was absolutely fabulous!”
Ms. Webster then took a moment to appreciate Ms. Sidoli on her birthday, inviting her up to the stage to present her with a cake— “We are going to sing Happy Birthday, and Ms. Sidoli is going to blow out the candle and make a wish for the new Lowell Center! And, if there was ever any question that Ms. Sidoli is doing what she was born to do—it’s kind of funny, as her last play in the Lowell Center is on her birthday!” Faculty, staff, family and students then joined in for a very joyful rendition of Happy Birthday!
Bravo and thanks to all our fabulous sixth grade performers! Thanks to families for their amazing support! Thanks to Mr. Miller for the great scenery, thank you to Ms. Allen for her wonderful work on costumes, and thanks to Ms. Webster, Ms. Alphonse-Crean, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Pinola for their cameo performances! And last but not least, a big thank you to Ms. Sidoli for another wonderful class play, the very last in the Lowell Center!
