Nothing but Nets raises funds to stop malariaThe rescheduled Nothing but Nets shoot-a-thon on Friday, May 13, was successful in raising $870, the highest yearly total raised to date, to send mosquito netting to Africa to help stop the transmission of malaria. Over the past nine years, the shoot-a-thon has raised a total of $6,000.
This year 27 lower schoolers participated in the event, assisted by18 middle schoolers. Prizes were awarded for the highest percentage of free throws and hockey shots made by both boys and girls in grades 3-5. Everyone received a small prize for participating. Thanks to Brenda Leith for her help organizing this event, to the lower school parents for their generous donations, and to the students who participated!
