Built into the school day on Tuesday afternoons, DCD middle school students can join a winter activities club. There is something for everyone in these special clubs happening all around the campus. In this winter’s offerings, you will find students…

  • Sitting at the potter’s wheel throwing a pot or sketching a portrait in Open Studios
  • Filmmaking in the Adams Lab
  • Jamming in the music room
  • Advancing a project in Open Woodshop
  • Coding and designing with Roblox Studio in the Science Lab
  • Prepping for Debate
  • Learning the fine art of relaxing in Hygge Holiday at Hale House with puzzle making, knitting, or cozying up with a good book
  • Researching and writing content for the next edition of “Inside the Nest,” DCD’s school newspaper.

Middle school students can also use this period for an extended study hall or an opportunity to connect with a teacher for extra help. Students and teachers all agree that this change of pace to pursue a passion or explore a new interest is a welcome time during a busy week of structured learning!
