Today was a truly special occasion at DCD— Grandparents and Special Friends Day! Over 300 Grandparents and Special Friends journeyed from near and far to take part in this cherished tradition, which featured engaging workshops led by our talented faculty and staff, a reception with student performances, and classroom visits.

Our halls and classrooms was brimming with joy and excitement as Grandparents and Special Friends participated in a variety of activities, including knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, cross-stitching, pickleball, hands-on STEAM explorations, floral design, chair yoga, decoupage, and enriching small group discussions, followed by a reception showcasing the great talents of our students through musical performances.

Following the workshops and reception, Grandparents and Special Friends joined their students in the classroom to experience firsthand the vibrant learning environment that defines a typical day at DCD. This shared time is deeply meaningful for our students, offering them the opportunity to proudly share their classroom and daily school experiences.

To all of our Grandparents and Special Friends, thank you for being part of this treasured tradition and for all that you contribute to making DCD such a wonderful community. A heartfelt thanks also goes out to our incredible parent volunteers whose efforts helped to make this day possible!
