On Sunday, May 1, 2016, a team of DCD walkers joined the more than 40,000 people who came together for the annual Walk for Hunger, now in its 48th year.

The Walk has become a DCD tradition as well over the years, usually falling on the day after the Fair. This year, DCD walkers not only had a weekend free of Fair activities but also a shorter Walk course of 10 miles instead of the usual 20.

No matter the circumstances, rain or shine, the Walk has been a welcome chance for faculty, parents, and students to join together for a common cause. There were nearly 40 walkers on the DCD team this year.

Congratulations, everyone, for “walking the walk!” Money raised from the Walk is used to develop and fund hundreds of critical programs that provide hunger relief to families and individuals across the state.
