Last Friday evening, DCD Middle School Science Teacher Jen Baker was inducted into the Suffolk University Athletics Hall of Fame! Jen graduated from Suffolk in 2014, and she is the 11th women’s basketball player to ever be inducted.
During Jen’s time at Suffolk, she was a senior captain and four-year letterwinner, she was voted the team’s Offensive MVP as a junior, named a Charles Law Student-Athlete, and was selected as a Great Northeast Athletic Conference First-Team honoree— not once, but twice. Additionally, Jen became the second Ram in history to reach the 1,000-point mark as a junior, and she is the third highest scorer in the books as a Suffolk Ram with 1,486 total points scored!
Suffolk University recently published a powerful retrospective on Jen’s basketball career, sharing that, “It was her unselfish, unassuming and dedicated play, motivating teammates to always play to the best of their abilities that sealed Baker’s spot in the Hall of Fame.”
In the article, Jen also reflects upon her experience, saying, “It was the people that made it so memorable and something I’ll never forget.”
We are proud of Jen and her incredible athletic achievements, and are so glad that she serves as a role model here at DCD, and continues to demonstrate her value for the people with whom she interacts! Congratulations, Jen!
