It was a special first day as we welcomed 256 students, including 53 new faces, and of course, our new head of school, Ms. Allison Webster! The first assembly of the year is always a highlight!  Twenty-seven eighth graders entering the final year of their DCD journey, took to center stage ready to assume their new responsibilities as leaders, mentors, and role models for the student body.

Ms. Webster expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to join the DCD community. She had been anticipating this very moment — the first gathering of DCD students, faculty, and parents to kick off the new school year — since accepting the position of head of school last year.

The Lowell Center thundered with song and dance as the audience belted out the “Rattlin Bog,” a favorite DCD tradition. The limb, the branch, the tree, the nest, the egg, the bird, the wing, and the germ were all well represented by children from each of the grades present!
