DCD’s halls and classrooms were bursting at the seams on Friday morning, as we welcomed over 300 very special guests to campus! Grandparents and special friends had an opportunity to shadow their favorite young students through a typical morning of learning and engagement. Whether partaking in a Latin lesson, solving a math problem, tuning into music during jazz band practice, or witnessing some excellent craftsmanship in the woodshop, our visitors seemed to really enjoy the day, and the entire school community was buzzing with excitement.

The children were delighted to share the day with their grandparents or special friends who in turn loved coming to school to see young loved ones in their learning habitats! Even for the veteran visitors, this day remains a favorite for the chance to reconnect with teachers, fellow grandparents, and friends they see year after year as they pass in the halls or sit together during class. At recess time, the Rand Gym was packed for a mid-morning reception as our guests debriefed with each other and enjoyed some sustenance before returning to class!
