Mr. Buffum’s Grade 8 U.S. History class recently got an insider look at the legal system thanks to a special guest visit from David Jellinek, a Massachusetts criminal defense attorney and parent of Calla ’27.
David spoke with the class about how a specific case was handled within the Massachusetts court system, walking students through the real-world mechanics of a trial. The interactive discussion allowed students to closely examine key constitutional issues firsthand—providing perfect preparation as they gear up for their upcoming Supreme Court decision research papers.
We extend a huge thank you to David for sharing his expertise, bringing constitutional law off the page, and giving our students a valuable edge on their research. We are incredibly fortunate for all that our DCD parents contribute to our community!
