Trelane Clark

Head of Lower School

My favorite thing about DCD is that Learning Is a Way of Life that is demonstrated by a high expectations, skilled instruction, and strong sense of community and care.

I am on a mission to T.H.R.I.V.E.: Teach from the Heart, model Resiliency, lead with Integrity, Value relationships, and ensure Equity for students, families, and educators. My work is grounded in the solid educational opportunities that I was afforded as a young person, and I seek to facilitate similar learning paths for the students I serve. I am most proud that I have had many opportunities to serve students and families in a variety of school contexts. This has enabled me to gain skills and develop rapport with students and families with relative ease. Some of my specific passions in education are in literacy as an act of liberation and a civil right, providing equitable educational opportunities for children, and supporting teacher growth and development. Additionally, I enjoy partnering with families and communities in order to create the best possible school outcomes for students that we can— together.
