My favorite thing about DCD is the energy. Everyone you encounter is excited, engaged, and welcoming. DCD exudes warmth, strikes a perfect balance of work and play, and lives its motto “learning is a way of life.
School was my refuge. I was fortunate to have phenomenal teachers and mentors throughout my education who expanded my worldview in and outside of the classroom. Their commitment to experiential education sparked a lifelong love of travel, the arts, and civic engagement. After being raised on a rural Michigan farm, I’ve been fortunate to visit numerous countries, 40 states, and multiple national parks.
While originally a marketer and product developer, I was drawn to helping students navigate the college admissions process and most recently served as the Director of College Counseling for an independent school in California that also prioritized experiential education. I loved traveling with my students to colleges, on senior retreats and outdoor education excursions, and during our weeklong mini-term courses. From glass blowing to live entertainment, walking food tours to museums, I am energized by seeing students experience a “first.”
My husband Taylor and I recently relocated to Massachusetts with our two daughters, Harper (Nobles ’26) and Quincy (DCD ’26), and our Miniature Australian Shepherd, Tucker. You can find us attending live performances, restoring our early colonial home, or spending countless hours in independent bookstores.
