The Grade 1 Class Play is a Tale of Determination and Good Will!

The Grade 1 Class Play is a wonderful story about collaboration, bravery, and determination! Set in the city as spring is in full bloom, the tale follows a group of kind-hearted characters who work together to help a dear family of baby ducklings find a safe, new home—overcoming challenges they face along the way. This heartwarming tale celebrates trustworthiness and goodwill, ultimately showing the power of coming together to care for all creatures, great and small.

Following the performance, Head of School Allison Webster shared, “As I watched the play, I was reminded of Miss Clark’s thought for the week: ‘A teacher can open the door, but you must walk through yourself.’ I thought about all the lines you learned and how impressive your acting was— you stayed in character the entire time! You worked so well together, and I could see how much effort and practice went into your performance. Your teachers gave you the chance to do the play, but the work was all yours. I am so proud of the work you have done, and the incredible play you created for all of us. And I noted these two lines, ‘Be confident! Be determined!’ This group is very confident and very determined, and that makes me really excited for all of your future class plays!”

Congratulations and thanks to all of our fabulous and brave Grade 1 performers, as well as to all of our wonderful parents for their help in learning lines! Thanks to Ms. Wilson and Ms. McDonough for their incredible support, and Ms. McDonough for her cameo performance! Thanks to Ms. Rothwell for the duckling costumes, and Mr. Vélez and Ms. Snow for the wonderful music! Thanks to Mr. Miller, along with fourth graders for the lovely scenery, and Vivian Carney for her fabulous work on stage lighting! And thanks to Ms. Sidoli for another wonderful Grade 1 Class Play!
