The Pre-K class doubled in size, but just for one day! Each student brought a special friend to a recent all school assembly.  In prime time on the DCD stage, our Pre-kindergarteners introduced their own hand-made, multi-cultural puppets.

Beginning in early December, each member of the class got to spin the globe and choose a native country from which their puppet friend would emigrate.  As these large puppets took shape physically from a variety of recycled materials, students chose hobbies, devised personalities, and did research on names and clothing that would be representative of their individual countries. Unfolding over the course of a month, this favorite project connects language arts, reading readiness, math, art, social studies and, of course, public speaking!
