The stormy weather yesterday didn’t dampen spirits for the first day of school at Dedham Country Day. Morning drop-off had extra energy as children hopped out of their cars carrying poster boards displaying summer projects, overloaded backpacks with new supplies, and sports bags ready to engage in afternoon practices. Parents walking their children into school had an opportunity to catch up with Ms. Webster at her “Carpool Coffee” station.
After visiting homerooms and new advisories, students, teachers, and staff all gathered in the Lowell Center for our traditional first-day all-school assembly. New students and teachers and staff were welcomed to the DCD community and were introduced to our annual tradition of singing and acting out The Rattlin’ Bog.
No time wasted today! Children and teachers got down to the business of learning and connecting in the science labs, on the fields, in the playgrounds, in the classrooms, in the art studios and around the lunch tables. Enjoy some of the snapshots from a very productive first day.
