No question about it, kids love summer, but they also seem to love Day One at DCD. The energy and smiles throughout the halls and classrooms and on the playgrounds and fields were endless as we welcomed 268 students to campus today.
Summer projects in hand, students waved goodbye to their parents and streamed into school to be greeted by teachers, administrators and staff members. During morning assembly, our new faculty members were introduced, the 8th graders took their traditional spot at center stage, Ms. Webster welcomed the DCD Hawks back to their home nest, and Ms. Scheibe, our new music teacher, pulled-off DCD’s traditional rendition of Rattlin’ Bog without a hitch! Then it was off to class and down to the business of learning!
