Dedham Country Day School (DCD) seeks a part-time Library Media Specialist to join the robust faculty and staff in our pre-kindergarten to grade 8 community for the 2026-27 school year. The Library Media Specialist works with library staff, parent volunteers, faculty and students to create a dynamic, engaging and inspiring environment to nurture and instill a love of reading and literature among community members. DCD has a literature-based library program with over 13,000 volumes, and maker-space integration. We seek an innovative leader who is passionate about children’s literature, and eager to share it in a variety of formats, working collaboratively with school constituents. The anticipated salary range for this position is $30,000 – $45,000.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and support the reading lives of students and faculty by further developing our inclusive collection and promoting literacy goals
  • Implement the library curriculum for upper elementary school students, teach weekly classes as assigned, and provide direction for student book selection
  • Provide middle school students with research guidance, curriculum support and tools to generate a culture of reading
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies as well as digital literacy to enhance teaching and learning both in the library and in lower school classrooms 
  • Engage in directing parent library volunteers
  • Foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration through reading, storytelling, displays and related activities
  • Curate a robust and diverse collection of literature in a variety of formats
  • Assist with cataloging tasks and projects, including cataloging new additions to the collection, editing older catalog records, and identifying new titles for procurement”
  • Participate in the coordination of the yearly DCD book fair with outside vendor and parent volunteers
  • Participate in the school community as a contributing member through committee work, faculty/staff meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Provide weekly coverage for recess and lunch duties

 

Strong candidates will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in library science, education or related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience with library administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of automated library systems and a willingness to integrate academic technology into the library experience
  • Familiarity with lower school literacy curriculum and the administration of libraries
  • Strong organizational skills and a passion for literacy, librarianship and working with children
  • A passion for consuming, sharing and creating content in different formats
  • An eagerness to embrace multicultural perspectives with experience building an inclusive environment and an awareness of anti-bias teaching practices
  • A willingness to be part of a collaborative team

Dedham Country Day School (DCD) seeks a detail-oriented, collaborative, and mission-driven Advancement Services Manager to join a dynamic and high-performing Advancement team in supporting every aspect of the school community. This is a 20-hour/week (50%) position, with the potential for additional teaching, coaching, or other responsibilities based on interest and experience. Primarily in-office with possible hybrid options. The anticipated salary range for this position is $22,000 – $30,000.

About the Role

The Advancement Services Manager is a key part of DCD’s Advancement Office—overseeing data management, gift processing, reporting, and donor stewardship. This role ensures the smooth functioning of all advancement activities and works closely with colleagues across the school to advance DCD’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Advancement database (Raiser’s Edge/NXT), including gift entry, updates, reporting, imports, and reconciliation with the Business Office.
  • Support annual giving and other fundraising priorities through tracking, reporting, and strategy coordination.
  • Oversee acknowledgements/receipts, reminders, and donor communications, serving as a key point of contact for constituents.
  • Produce reports and analysis for school leadership, advancement staff, and volunteers.
  • Partner with Admissions, Business, and Technology offices to ensure consistency and accuracy of constituent data.
  • Conduct prospect research and maintain donor and alumni records.
  • Help support logistics, invitation lists, registration systems, and materials for Advancement events, and attend events as needed.
  • Support alumni engagement efforts and help collect and share alumni updates.
  • Participate fully in school life, including occasional recess, lunch, or carpool duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in advancement, development, or related professional work.
  • Strong database and reporting skills; experience with Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred.
  • Excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships across a diverse community.
  • Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • A collaborative spirit and genuine enthusiasm for supporting the school’s mission.
