The 8th Grade Gift

A longstanding tradition at DCD, the 8th Grade Parent Gift is a special way for the parents of each graduating class to leave a legacy in honor of their children, while providing the opportunity to say “thank you” to DCD’s faculty, staff, and administrators for the many ways they have cared for, prepared, and guided our children over time.
Honoring Our Graduates and Strengthening DCD's Endowment
While the 8th Grade Parent Gift has taken on different forms in the past, for the last several years it has been dedicated to supporting DCD’s endowment. Beginning with the Class of 2023, parent donations have been used to create endowed funds that help DCD’s long-term financial stability, support strategic priorities such as financial assistance and faculty salaries, and help moderate tuition increases. Parents of the Class of 2026 will be the fourth grade to participate in the recent endowment drive, and will be commemorated along with the other classes with engraved bricks by the legacy DCD School Bell.
