Pool Rules and Regulations
Signing In: All members must sign-in before entering the pool area. Supervision: all children must be accompanied by a member at all times and directly supervised by a parent or adult regardless of swimming ability. The lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the pool areas, but should not be viewed as a babysitter. The lifeguards are expected to take breaks as needed and will call for everyone to clear the pool until his/her return. This rule must be respected at all times. Children may not sit on the stairs or at the water’s edge when a lifeguard is on break.
Guests: Members and their children are entitled to bring one guest per person per day. All guests must be accompanied by the member at all times.
Food: Light snacks and drinks are permitted in the pool area on the grassy surface. NO glassware is allowed in the pool area. Lunch and dinner picnics must be eaten at the picnic tables or on the grass outside the pool area.
One Pool/One Guard: The club allows for one lifeguard to be on duty and therefore only one pool may be used. Under no circumstances should any person be in the secondary pool area. Guards have the authority to enforce all pool rules. Attire: Swimmers must wear proper swimming attire (swimsuits, no cut-offs or shorts) Children who are not toilet trained may enter the pool if they are wearing a "Little Swimmer" or swim diapers made specifically for swimming. It is recommended that you take little ones on frequent trips to the bathroom to avoid accidents and make frequent swim pant changes. Diapers must be changed outside the pool area. Flotation Devices/Toys: Inner tubes, “snow tubes,” mats, and other flotation devices are not allowed. These toys are unsafe as they obscure the lifeguards’ view of all swimmers. Balls and water guns are also not to be used. Smoking: DCD is a non-smoking campus and this rule also applies during the summer months and on weekends. Bathrooms: Portable toilets are available behind the pool shed.
Any member who violates the Rules and Regulations of the Pool Club set forth herein will be subject to termination of their membership, and the forfeiture of all rights contained in the membership agreement.
