Program Highlights
Open to DCD and non-DCD students, the Soccer Skills Academy’s primary focus is to teach the fundamentals underlying passing, receiving, dribbling, and shooting. A special emphasis will be placed on developing ball skills through the use of fun games and exercises.
Dates & Times
The 2009-2010 DCD Soccer Skills Academy will be held in the Primary Gym at Dedham County Day School (90 Sandy Valley Road, Dedham, MA) on the following dates from November through April (11/22, 12/6, 12/20, 1/10, 1/24, 2/7, 2/21, 3/7, 3/28, & 4/11.) There will be three sessions and students will be placed on basis of age and ability.
Session 1: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Boys & girls in grades 3, 4, & 5
Session 2: 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm Boys & girls in grades K, 1 & 2
Session 3: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Boys & girls in grades K, 1 & 2
Fee
The fee is $150 which includes a soccer ball (each player will get to take home a soccer ball at the end of the program.) All proceeds go to support the DCD Scholarship Fund and all checks should be made payable to “Dedham Country Day School.”

Program Director
DCD parent Curt Burmeister is a former men’s assistant coach at Tufts University and a former women’s assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a USSF National “B” Coaching License and has coached all levels of youth soccer over the past 21 years. Four of his club teams have been USYSA State Champions and a number of former players have gone on to play collegiately at the following schools: Babson, Bates, Bentley, Colgate, Conn College, Dartmouth, Drexel, Framingham State, Harvard, Marist, Mary Washington, Nichols, Northeastern, Plymouth State, Pomona, Regis, Saint Anselm, Skidmore, Trinity, Chicago, Richmond, Wesleyan, and Wheaton.
